Set-out before selection. The room is measured, the drainage is checked and the plan is drawn before anyone shops. Tiles chosen against a real set-out rarely need to be re-chosen.

Waterproofing is not a step to rush. Falls, junctions and penetrations get the attention, and the membrane is left to cure properly. It is the part of the job nobody ever sees and the only part that causes real damage when it is done badly.

One point of contact. Trades are sequenced so plumbers, waterproofers, tilers, cabinetmakers and screen fitters arrive in order. You hear about changes from one person, in plain language.

The house gets protected. Floor coverings on the route in, dust control at the door, debris removed rather than stacked in the driveway. A bathroom renovation is a construction site in the middle of a home, and it should not feel like one for longer than it must.
